Popp's Ferry Out-Patient Surgery Center, LLC is a Medicare Certified Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) consisting of two (2) Operating Rooms located in Biloxi, MS. We specialize in Ophthalmologic Surgery and provide our services to the surrounding community.

Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse in Preop/PACU of an Ambulatory Surgery Center, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition to/from the operating room to the recovery phase. Your duties will include:
  • Effectively utilizes the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care.
  • Monitoring patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels.
  • Assessing patients' pain levels and administering appropriate pain management interventions.
  • Collaborating with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Assumes responsibility of patient and checks patient records for accuracy and completeness; to include surgery checklist, surgical/medical consents, routine lab reports, and any medical clearances if required.
  • Documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Prepare patient for the operative procedure.
  • Educate patient on procedure and discharge instructions.
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
  • Strong patient care skills with a focus on delivering compassionate and personalized care.
  • Ability to make sound Nursing Judgement based on nursing theory.
  • Must be proficient in assessing, prioritizing, planning and implementing direct patient care.
  • Proficient with inserting, maintaining, and removing IV access.
  • Ability to effectively respond to emergency situations.
  • Working knowledge and previous experience in PACU, Surgery, or ICU/ER settings is preferred.
