We are seeking a Primary Care Physician to support the Veteran community in the Hyannis, MA area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals.

Position Highlights:

  • Logistics:
    • Contract Type: 1 year contract
    • Schedule: Monday Friday, 8 am4:30 pm.
    • Location: 233 Stevens Street, Hyannis, MA 02601
  • Requirements:
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
    • Graduate of an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree.
    • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
    • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
    • Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

What does a typical day look like for the Primary Care Physician?

You will:

  • Monday Friday, 8am4:30pm.
  • Direct Patient Care: Estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care.
    • Provide Primary Care management of acute and chronic conditions.
    • Initial evaluation, treatment and management of minor wound care, respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, burns, musculoskeletal trauma, dermatological illness, ENT, eye and urological problems.
    • Initial evaluation and ongoing management of chronic diseases, such as coronary artery disease, atherovascular disease, Type I and II diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, PTSD, depression and other chronic medical and psychiatric conditions.
  • Administrative: Estimated 5% of time not involved in direct patient care.

What qualifications do you look for?

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.
