Location: US:WI:WEST BEND at our FROEDTERT WEST BEND HOSPITAL facility, and also at the Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital facility.

Shift: Shift 1

Shift Details: 0730-1600, 0900-1730, 08-1630. Holidays: 1 Main and 1 Hard to staff Weekends: 0800-1200 SAT &Sun -Every 6th rotation Need flexibility to cover vacancies, LOA, PTO, unforeseen call-ins. Minimum 36 hours availability per 6-week schedule-negotiable. Shifts primarily at West Bend Hospital Outpatient Care Center, but will also need to cover Menomonee Falls Outpatient Care Center.

Job Summary:

Wound care, General Infusion and bladder instillations make up the majority of the RN care provided in the Outpatient Care Center.

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care. The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care. The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health. The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services establishes goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs across settings with the patient, family, and/or other care providers. The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care. The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services delegates and supervises care in accordance with the WI Nurse Practice. The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for their professional development. Major responsibilities of this role will include one or more of the following:
o Perform/direct ACLS
o Independent rhythm interpretation and defibrillation
o Administration of advanced lifesaving medications
o Independent, templated ("RN-only") visits for patient assessment, with action taken based on established protocols and/or clinical practice standards using clinical judgement to determine intervention timing/specifics.
o Specialty patient education where certification/additional certificate is required for role (listed in job requirements) o Sedation o Telemetry monitoring & interpretation/management of rhythm changes
o Assisting with complex procedures - (RN doing care / work on patient, or RN has role in treatment / procedure, etc.)
o Advanced wound therapy (VACs, debridement, etc.) o Central line management (TPA administration) and maintenance (dressing / cap changes, access / flushing)
o Device interrogation and interpretation with resultant action o Complex infusions (concurrent infusions, hazardous medication administration, blood and blood products, etc.) Work may also include patient care coordination, direct patient care, patient education, telephone triage/eVisits, and performing/assisting with minor procedures. May float to other areas on as needed for operations need.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Clinical experience and/or interest in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment is required. At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Nursing licensure is required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
