Job description

Job Description
This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' The Client Technology Administrator are support, entry level, individual contributors that supports Endpoint Technologies and Systems Operations both in the Provo MTC and international MTCs. This includes Desktop Management, IMTC Administration, Mission Office and MTC Technical Support, and Google Workspace Administration.
Responsibilities
Reports to supervisor or manager in the MTC Technology or Information and Communication Systems departments.
May include responsibilities from any of the following areas:
Desktop Management (Provo & IMTC)
• Maintains 100% uptime on production endpoint systems
• Designs, builds, tests, updates, and implement new and/or current desktop image solutions
• System administration of current 3rd party applications (PDQ, SmartDeploy, etc)
• Provides tier-3 support for all desktop issues
• Creates, modifies, and implements new automation scripts
• Creates and maintains GPO desktop policies
• Active Directory management
• Maintains and distributes applications, security policies, and patches
• Researches, evaluates, and implements innovative solutions that improve the user experience
IMTC Administration
• Provides tier-2 and tier-3 technical support for IMTC hardware and software issues
• Maintains OS policies for lab and classroom computers
• Designs, builds, tests, and implements desktop solutions
• Verifies and troubleshoots server systems
• Advanced testing of new software and infrastructure prior to enterprise-wide deployment
• ChurchofJesusChrist.org Active Directory administration
• Monitors server and desktop systems health
Google Workspace (GSuite) Administration
• Provides tier-2 and tier-3 support for Provo and IMTC GSuite issues
• Maintains OU structure and Chrome policies
• General system administration of GSuite console to include system monitoring and uptime status
• Maintains GSuite console user and device security
• Advance testing and evaluation of new GSuite/Chrome initiatives
Mission Office and MTC Technical Support
• Provides tier-2 technical support for missionary and mission office applications & hardware
• Provides tier-2 technical support for mobile devices
• Provides tier-2 technical support for MTC Tools
Asset Management
• Maintains entire lifecycle of all MTC computer equipment (desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, mobile devices)
• Fixes/Coordinates repair of all hardware issues
• Performs regular computer and mobile device audits
• Setup, deploys, or moves new and existing hardware requests
• Assists in mobile device deployments to missionaries
• Provides regular asset management reporting to management
• Maintains and update asset management tracking system
Other Sys Admin Duties
• Assists in training new members of the team
• Research and evaluates new technologies for possible MTC-wide deployments
• Provides user/team training to ServiceDesk
• Will be required to work nights and weekends on occasion
• Works closely with the MTC Asset Management Team
May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g. assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar)
Qualifications
Required:
• 2 years of combined experience in at least 6-8 of the following:
• Strong technical background or education training
• Customer service background
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM)
• Working knowledge in PowerShell scripting
• Basic knowledge in desktop imaging processes and technologies
• Basic knowledge in GSuite administration console
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016
• Some experience in Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and Postgres databases
• Basic knowledge of basic networking (IPv4, subnetting, switches, routers, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD)
• Basic knowledge in WSUS, PDQ, SmartDeploy or similar management console
• Advance knowledge in computer hardware and drivers
• Basic knowledge in remote technical support technologies
• Basic knowledge in virtualization of environments
• Basic knowledge in GSuite administration console
Other requirements:
• Works well under pressure, and meets deadlines
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time.
• To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment.
Preferred:
• 2 years of experience in MTC Technology department
• Served in a mobile device mission
• Knowledge in area book (ABP) application
