What is a part time office manager?

Part time office managers are professionals who oversee the administrative functions of an office while working less than a standard full-time schedule. Their responsibilities often include managing office supplies, coordinating schedules, handling communications, and supporting staff and management. Despite working fewer hours, they play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for those seeking flexibility while still contributing significantly to an organization's efficiency.

How does a part time office manager effectively prioritize tasks when working limited hours?

As a part-time office manager, it's important to prioritize tasks by focusing on high-impact responsibilities first, such as managing schedules, overseeing office supplies, and supporting team communication. Effective time management and clear communication with staff and leadership help ensure essential duties are completed within limited hours. Using digital tools to streamline administrative tasks and delegating when appropriate can also make the role more manageable and productive.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time office manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Office Manager, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in basic office administration are essential, often supported by experience or training in office management. Familiarity with office software like Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling tools, and basic bookkeeping systems is typically required. Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities help someone stand out in managing diverse responsibilities. These skills ensure efficient office operations, effective team support, and smooth workflow, even on a part-time basis.

However, the level of stress often depends on the work environment, workload, and organizational support. Typically, part-time positions may have less stress than full-time roles due to reduced hours and responsibilities.

Is part time office manager an entry level position?

Job description

No Phone Calls Please — we'll reach out to candidates we'd like to meet.

Do you love being the person who keeps everything running smoothly? Granny Nannies ATL is looking for a warm, organized, and dependable Office Coordinator to join our team. If you want meaningful work, a friendly office, and an afternoon schedule that leaves your mornings free, this could be a wonderful fit.

We're a home care agency dedicated to serving seniors and adults with special needs across Atlanta — and the person in this seat plays a big part in making sure our clients and caregivers feel supported every day. This is a part-time role (25 hours/week) with real potential to become full-time as our agency continues to grow.

Pay: Starting at $19–$22/hour, with a raise as the role transitions to full-time.

What your afternoons will look like

  • Welcoming clients and caregivers over the phone and making them feel heard
  • Coordinating schedules so clients and caregivers are matched and on time
  • Completing client intake forms and setting up meetings with our team
  • Helping manage the hiring process for new caregivers — from application to orientation
  • Keeping our office organized, safe, and running like clockwork
  • Sharing the after-hours phone line on a rotating basis with the team
  • Pitching in on other projects as needed (no two days are exactly alike!)

What you bring

  • At least 2 years of office experience (home care or scheduling experience is a big plus)
  • A friendly, professional phone presence and genuine people skills
  • Strong organization and the ability to juggle priorities calmly under pressure
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office and general computer tasks
  • Flexibility to occasionally work extra hours when the team needs you
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a heart for the work we do

Why you'll love working here

  • Consistent afternoon hours — no early mornings, done by 5:00 PM
  • A clear path to full-time for the right person
  • A supportive team that values warmth, professionalism, and doing right by our clients
  • The satisfaction of work that genuinely helps families in our community

No phone calls, please — we'll reach out to candidates we'd like to meet.
