Job description

OVERVIEW

JOB TITLE: Office Assistant for the College of Arts & Sciences

PAY RATE: $16.50 per hour

HOURS: Approx. 6 hrs/week during business hours (MTWRF, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm)

LOCATION: St. Paul Campus, JRC

JOB SUMMARY:

The student office assistant provides administrative support and various project support to the faculty and staff of the History and Political Science departments. General office tasks include scanning and duplicating, restocking supplies, and managing upkeep and organization of department spaces. The office assistant will also help manage department email communications.

In addition to general office support tasks, the office assistant will work on projects as needed for staff and faculty, including generating flyers and posters, developing newsletter content, and assisting with managing department data and spreadsheets. The student in this role will work with their supervisor to develop skills to support them in the workforce after their studies.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current student at UST (eligibility details below)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs and the ability to learn web and poster design software
  • General office skills, including organization and customer service
  • Adaptability, punctuality, ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills
