Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Simulation / Skill Lab Assistant (Part-Time) position, in the Health and Public Safety Technologies division. This position is located on Atlanta Tech's main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Nursing and Related Program / Program Coordinator, theSimulation / Skill Lab Assistant(Part-Time) will provide technical support for all simulation operations within the division. This is a part-time position, working up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.

Job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Maintenance and repair of computerized mannequins (software and hardware);
  • Setting up and breaking down of skills lab activities and skills lab check offs;
  • Setting up and breaking down simulation lab equipment for student and faculty use;
  • Ensuring that the skills lab and simulation labs are wellorganized, clean and orderly at all times.
  • Assist the simulation lab coordinator with management of supply inventory, ordering and restocking supplies to support simulation and skills lab activities;
  • Assist the simulation coordinator with equipment maintenance: cleaning, quality assuranceChecks and requesting repairs;
  • Assist with facilitation of nursing skills lab practice and simulation logistics such as scheduling,room assignments, equipment allocation, student daily simulation and skills lab schedules, etc.;
  • Serve as simulator operator running preprogrammed scenarios with faculty instructors,assuring all equipment is set up for course programs;
  • Support / assist in role playing applications, props placement and moulage setup;
  • Assist with technical assistance, support and training to faculty, instructors and staff in use ofsimulation equipment, as necessary;
  • Assist with maintaining record of repairs;
  • Participate in technical training, as necessary;
  • Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and
  • Performs additional duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess and demonstrate anAssociate's degree in Nursing, Computer Technology OR an Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution AND proficiency in MS software applications including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Internet and database applications; experience teaching diverse and adult populations; and ability to instruct students and handle administrative responsibilities related to the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, preference may be given to candidates thatpossess and demonstrate aBachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Computer Technology or a Bachelor degree from a regionally accredited institution AND previous experience in a simulation lab. Must possess and demonstrate prior lab school experience.
