What you will be doing: Provide high-quality care to assisted living home residents who live in the Anchorage Pioneer Home in a warm, supportive, and caring manner

This position provides clinical and medication administration to residents and clinical support to the care teams. Focus will be on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health care teams, and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes. This position is surrounded by elder residents with many years of life experiences and wisdom who are in varying stages of their life journey. The working environment you can expect: This job is in the Anchorage Pioneer Home, an assisted living home at 923 W 11th Ave in Anchorage, Alaska. It overlooks an area known as the Park Strip with views of the Chugach Mountains easily visible from most floors of the home.

This position works under the direction of a registered nurse as part of our direct care staff and is responsible for aiding and personal care to the residents living in the home. Medicine and Dentistry: Knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of injuries, diseases, and deformities, including preventive health-care measures.

Physical Strength and Agility: Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time; ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work. Other Job information: This position is in support of the Pioneer Home, which is a 24-hour facility. This Pioneer Home is an Eden Alternative facility, where the environment includes contact with plants, flowers, and pets including cats, dogs, fish and birds. Employees of the Pioneer Home receive continual screening for tuberculosis and criminal history.
