Job description

Description:

Automotive Service Technician — PART-TIME | No Experience Needed

Take 5 Oil Change | Western North Carolina

$13/hr + tips + performance spiffs — certified techs earn even more as they grow.

Looking for a part-time job that's more interesting than a register? Take 5 Oil Change is hiring part-time Automotive Service Technicians in Western North Carolina. It's hands-on, fast-paced, and you'll actually learn a skill — all with a schedule that works around school, another job, or life in general.

What you'll actually do: Greet customers when they pull in, perform oil changes and fluid checks, inspect tires, replace wipers and filters, and keep things running smoothly in the shop. It's physical, it's social, and every car is a little different. We use a point of sale system you'll pick up quickly. No experience needed — we train you on everything and pay you while we do it.

This is a good fit if you're a student looking for reliable hours that flex around your class schedule, someone with another job who wants a solid second income, coming from food service or retail and want to try something different, or just someone who likes working with their hands and talking to people.

What we offer: $13/hr base pay plus tips at all locations. Performance-based spiffs as you earn certifications. Free oil changes on your personal vehicle. Paid training from day one. Flexible scheduling under 30 hours/week. A path to full-time and beyond if you want it — over 90% of our leadership started in the shop.

This is physical work — you'll be on your feet, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Locations hiring in Hendersonville and Asheville. Let us know your preferred location when you apply.

Requirements:

Must be at least 16 years of age (18 preferred). Able to lift up to 50 lbs and comfortable standing, bending, and moving throughout your shift. Reliable transportation to get to and from work. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Willing to submit to a background check. During the training period, you'll need to provide your own training uniform: black pants or shorts, black shirt, and non-slip black shoes. Company uniforms are provided after training is complete.

No automotive experience required — we provide paid training.
