Description
AveningTech is seeking a Junior PKI Network Engineer to support staffing for the Marine Corps Cyber Operations Group (MCCOG) Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) contract. This position supports senior personnel in providing technical expertise for concept exploration, functional and technical requirements development, implementation, and enhancement of DoD PKI and United States Marine Corps (USMC) capabilities, and will work out of Quantico in VA (100% onsite).
Responsibilities include:
  • Assist in maintaining a technically resilient certificate issuance and revocation status-checking infrastructure for all MCEN networks in support of HSPD-12 requirements
  • Assist in ensuring Marine Corps PKI implementation requirements are identified and incorporated into the development, implementation, and support of future DoD PKI architecture
  • Assist in providing Marine Corps PKI support for assessments of USMC impacts associated with DoD PKI PMO development and implementation activities, including use of DoD PKI with mobile devices and DoD-provided non-person entity issuance capabilities
  • Assist in providing Marine Corps PKI support for issues related to certificates, tokens, token issuance, and infrastructure services
  • Assist in assessing the impact of planned changes to registration software and hardware on USMC users
  • Assist in performing user account management and PKI system backups in accordance with local command disaster recovery policies
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving PKI workstation system errors, printer issues, bulk formatter issues, and basic network connectivity issues
  • Assist in supporting the SIPRNET Token Management System (TMS) and supporting the Department of the Navy (DoN) PKI to help protect Class 3 DoD certificates and networks
  • Support other tasks as assigned by senior Network Operations contractor personnel

Position Requirements
  • IAT II certification (ie Security+ or equivalent/higher)
  • High School diploma or GED and 1+ year of experience in a related technical field. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related discipline may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain a favorable adjudication on a T5 investigation
  • Experience using networked computer-based systems and the Microsoft Windows operating system
  • Experience in PKI operations and maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
