Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician (Entry Level Field Service Technician) is responsible for maintaining and servicing fuel card sites, customer fueling equipment, and related infrastructure. This role includes preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, site cleanliness, tank monitoring installations, and general field service support. The technician will work independently and as part of a team to ensure all fueling sites and equipment are operating safely and efficiently.


Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain card fueling site equipment and surrounding grounds
  • Coordinate and execute customer tank deliveries
  • Perform service and repairs on customer fueling equipment
  • Conduct general building and facility maintenance
  • Install and service tank monitoring systems (SmarTank)

Minor Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of fueling sites
  • Deliver fuel-related products and equipment to customer locations
  • Perform basic pump, hose, and nozzle repairs
  • Replace light bulbs and fixtures as needed
  • Conduct weekly inspections and report site issues
  • Maintain inventory of tank monitoring equipment
  • Perform light landscaping duties
  • Assist with petroleum spill cleanup as needed
  • Complete minor electronic service tasks
  • Support project teams by communicating updates, tracking issues, and contributing to reports
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Support preventative maintenance and equipment troubleshooting

Work Schedule amp; Expectations
  • Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (may vary based on workload and emergencies)
  • Daily reporting to Ashland, VA office unless otherwise directed
  • Company vehicles are to be picked up and returned daily (except on-call technician)
  • Work orders are dispatched through Coast system
  • Card sites must be serviced on a daily/weekly schedule, including trash removal every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
  • Preventative maintenance is performed every Friday using required equipment and tools
  • On-call rotation runs Monday–Sunday on a weekly basis
  • On-call technicians may take a company vehicle home and must remain available at all times
  • No alcohol or impairing substances permitted while on-call

  • Maintain professional appearance and wear required uniform and safety footwear
  • Follow all customer site rules, including no smoking on customer property
  • Communicate respectfully with customers and team members
  • Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Adhere to all traffic laws; violations may result in disciplinary action
