POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical contracting projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in electrical contracting, proven financial oversight capabilities, and a track record of long-term commitment and professional stability.
In this role, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle—from reading specs and preparing cost estimates to value engineering, contract execution, job costing, and field oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize project scope with or without formal blueprints.
  • Read, interpret, and analyze design documents, specifications, contract documents, and exhibits.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and negotiate change orders.
  • Identify and propose value engineering solutions to maximize efficiency and cost savings.
  • Solicit equipment and material price quotes; negotiate best vendor buy prices.
  • Monitor project performance by tracking work-in-place against estimated costs.
  • Review and manage all financial data and job costing using Foundation Accounting Software.
  • Negotiate project pricing directly with customers.
  • Facilitate and manage all necessary contract documentation (contracts, purchase orders, insurance certificates, submittals, W-9s, tax-exempt forms, etc.).
  • Conduct weekly site visits with customers, superintendents, and field personnel.
  • Apply practical knowledge of the latest National Electrical Code (NEC) to identify and correct code or installation issues in the field.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between office operations, field crews, and clients.

Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical contracting principles and current NEC compliance.
  • Experience with estimating software (McCormick experience is a strong plus).
  • Familiarity with construction accounting platforms (Foundation Accounting Software preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook), with advanced spreadsheet creation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and field interaction.
  • Ability to solve complex technical and field installation issues independently.

Benefits and Compensation:

Position offers competitive pay, benefits, paid vacation, and health/dental insurance.

Full-time: $125,000 -$140,000 a year, based on experience and qualifications.
