Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD)

Medi-Weightloss of Chandler
Location: Chandler, Arizona
Position Type: Part-Time, In-Clinic (Not Remote)

Position Summary

The Naturopathic Medical Doctor plays a vital role in guiding patients through their Medi-Weightloss journey. This role blends clinical responsibilities with nutrition education, lifestyle coaching, and patient accountability—while also supporting program enrollment, retention, and overall patient success. All care is delivered using Medi-Weightloss® clinical protocols under the supervision of licensed medical providers.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Obtain and review medical and psychosocial histories relevant to patient care.

  • Conduct physical examinations following Medi-Weightloss guidelines.

  • Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures, including ECGs.

  • Provide preventive medicine counseling, program education, and supplement/product guidance.

  • Prescribe within the collaborative agreement and Arizona scope-of-practice.

  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation for patient care and medication management.

  • Review patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.

  • Coordinate referrals to other healthcare professionals when needed.

  • Conduct follow-up calls to support patient progress and address concerns.

Patient Coaching & Care Support

  • Deliver one-on-one coaching focused on nutrition, behavior change, lifestyle modification, and goal setting.

  • Educate patients on meal planning, portion control, supplementation, and program compliance.

  • Monitor patient progress using weight, body composition, and adherence metrics.

  • Provide a high-touch, supportive experience that drives long-term success and retention.

  • Support clinic promotional campaigns, referral initiatives, and community outreach.

Technology & Systems Utilization

  • Use EMR systems, scheduling platforms, CRM tools, and clinic communication systems proficiently.

  • Track patient outcomes, sales performance, and follow-up tasks using clinic reporting tools.

  • Utilize standard office technology (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, tablets, scanners, payment systems).

Team & Clinic Support

  • Collaborate with medical providers, clinic managers, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care.

  • Participate in team meetings, ongoing training, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Assist with clinic operations, new patient onboarding, and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) in Arizona.

  • Active DEA Certification.

  • Certificate to Dispense (or ability to obtain).

  • Minimum of 3–4 years of experience with GLP-1 injections and HRT.

  • Proficiency with EMR systems, scheduling software, CRM tools, and standard office technology.

  • Ability to work within Chandler’s scope-of-practice for nutrition education and wellness coaching.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Medi-Weightloss or physician-supervised weight management programs.

  • Willingness to train in Hormone Therapy.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of motivational interviewing, behavior change principles, or lifestyle medicine.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced clinic environment.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and follow-through.

  • Professional, empathetic, and patient-centered approach.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Part-time position with potential for increased hours based on performance and clinic needs.

  • In-clinic role with daily patient and provider interaction.

  • Some evening and weekend availability might be required.

  • Standing, walking, and light lifting may be part of daily duties.
