As a String Bass Instructor (Part-Time) within the String School, you will play a vital role in shaping the musical development of students from elementary through high school in a dynamic pre-collegiate program administered by the Department of Music. You'll join a collaborative community of educators dedicated to excellence in music education and student growth.

In this role, you will inspire and develop students across a wide range of skill levels while contributing to a vibrant and supportive learning environment.
What You'll Do:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students ranging from beginner to advanced levels
  • Select and teach appropriate scales, etudes, and repertoire tailored to each student's development
  • Coach chamber ensembles and support collaborative performance experiences
  • Prepare students for solo recitals, concerts, and ensemble performances
  • Partner with fellow String School instructors, parents, volunteers, and program leadership to support student success
  • Participate in monthly teacher meetings and contribute to program planning and improvement

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Bass Performance, or Music Education
  • Demonstrated experience teaching string bass to elementary, middle, and/or high school students
  • Experience with both Suzuki and traditional pedagogical methods
