Reports To: Front of House Manager
Annual Salary: $20.00 to $23.00/hr Depending on Experience
Schedule: 25 hours per week to include evenings and weekends
Position Summary
The World Stage Theater Representative will assist the Front of House Manager in providing a wonderful experience and front-line engagement for patrons of the World Stage Theater. The World Stage Theater has 476 seats and two levels. The Theater Representative will help train and guide ushers, greet and direct patrons, as well as resolve any issues professionally and respectfully. The Theater Representative will help to ensure that performances start on time. This position provides knowledgeable, high-quality customer service in a highly visible role to ensure the fulfillment of Museum of the Bible mission to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible.
Duties amp; Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Front of House Manager, this position serves as a key member in welcoming our patrons to the World Stage Theater, ensuring guest safety, and creating a memorable experience.
  • Serves as a brand liaison during the regular season and provides support for various special events.
  • Resolving concerns of patrons as they arise, consistent with MOTB’s service resolution standards, centered on creating an excellent experience.
  • Working knowledge of Theater operations and best practices to ensure excellent experience for our patrons.
  • Training and working alongside ushers, advising on best practices and white glove customer service for patrons.
  • Assigning specific roles to the ushers for Theater shows and events.
  • Greeting and seating patrons.
  • Confident discussing current and upcoming shows and events.
  • Creating and assisting with show reports based on metrics from World Stage Theater events.
  • Proficiency with Tessitura, the World Stage Theater ticketing platform, including selling tickets, or verifying information from patrons.
  • Maintain a high level of customer care and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, deadlines, and design standards.
  • Champion the Museum of the Bible’s mission to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible.
  • As required, inclusion in official or incidental photographs and videos for MOTB and/or guests.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
Knowledge:
  • High School Diploma: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Theater, Hospitality or related major or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A background in Theater, stage management, event planning, or face-to-face customer service experience a must.
  • Knowledge of Tessitura is a plus.
Skills:
  • The successful candidate will have superior people skills, an upbeat and positive manner with white glove customer service.
  • Comfortable communicating and working with people of highly varied roles and levels within the organization.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all clients, ushers and patrons through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Must be able to confidently lead and direct large crowds over 250 people.
  • Anticipate patron needs and assist those with accessibility needs.
  • Work safely and maintain safe, clean, and orderly conditions in World Stage Theater.
Abilities:
  • Ability to stoop, stand, climb, navigate stairs, and occasionally lift a minimum of 20 lbs. as required.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, quickly, accurately, remain calm under pressure, and resolve issues in a positive as well as respectful manner.
  • Comfortability communicating and directing others in a loud, stimulating, and dimly lit environment.
  • Ability to receive, communicate, and coordinate complex information in a high traffic environment.
  • Ability to lead by example in all matters of appearance, work ethic, and conduct.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to Sit / Squat and bend at the waist and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available for at least two shifts per production, including nights and weekends onsite in Washington DC.
