Position Overview
This Adjunct Faculty member provides didactic and clinical instruction for first and second year Physician Assistant students enrolled in an Associate in Science degree Physician Assistant Program or, in the BAS in Health Science with an option in Physician Assistant studies
What you will be doing
  • Classroom teaching in area of clinical expertise
  • Evaluates and advises students
  • Develops curricula
  • Participates in curriculum development and revision
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
  • Master's degree and 18 graduate credits in health field (e.g. Health Science, Public Health, Medicine). Current Florida license or eligible for a Florida license. Physician Assistants must possess a valid national certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Must demonstrate effective use of active learning and problem solving techniques
  • Must be willing to work on multiple campuses/outreach locations
  • Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
  • Possess excellent organizational and human relations skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to function well in a technological environment that includes using classroom and office multimedia resources
Preferences
  • Two (2) years of college or university teaching experience or a combination of college or university teaching and professional experience as a physician assistant
