Janitor

Location: Junction City, Kansas - Fort Riley

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Part-Time, Day Shift (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 8:00 am - 3:30 pm)

Compensation: $14.25 - $14.25 per hour

Tessera is seeking a hardworking and helpful Janitor with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Clean front offices: Vacuum, wipe down countertops, conference tables, dust, sweep/mop, and take out trash.

  • Clean bathrooms: Sanitize and clean all toilets, urinals, sinks, fixtures, partitions, walls, baseboards, and doors. Restock supplies and refill dispensers. Collect trash and replace liners. Sweep and mop floor. Follow cross-contamination procedures.

  • Clean breakrooms: Clean countertops, tables, refrigerator, baseboards, refill dispensers, trash removal, and sweep/mop.

  • Clean locker room: Wipe benches, trash removal, and sweep/mop.

  • Clean all office spaces: Vacuum and take out trash.

  • Restocking supplies: Restock supplies daily.

  • Wet/Dry mopping: Wet/dry mop each floor according to schedule.

  • Sweeping: Sweep each area according to schedule.

  • Warehouse: Empty all trash (Big trash cans).

  • Follow industrial safety guidelines, apply safety training, and promote a safe workplace culture at all worksites.

  • Paper shredding.

  • Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications:

  • Must have good customer service skills.

  • Three (3) months of cleaning experience preferred.

  • Must have transportation to the Ogden or Henry Visitor Center at Fort Riley.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

  • A valid state driver's license is preferred with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
