Residential Support Specialist (PRN/Part-Time)
Position Summary
We are seeking dependable and compassionate Residential Support Specialists to provide coverage and support within our residential group home serving adolescent males. This flexible, part-time position fills in for Residential House Managers and Residential Life Coaches during vacations, illness, training, and other staffing needs.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy mentoring youth, working in a team environment, and making a positive impact while maintaining a flexible schedule.
Schedule
  • Part-time/PRN position
  • Flexible scheduling based on program needs
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 36 hours per month (18 hours per pay period)
  • May include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight coverage opportunities

Essential Responsibilities
  • Maintain daily structure, routines, and behavioral expectations within the home
  • Supervise and support residents in a safe and structured environment
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for residents
  • Support residents in school, employment, life skills development, and personal growth
  • Provide transportation to approved activities, appointments, school, employment, and community events as assigned
  • Build positive and professional relationships with residents while maintaining appropriate boundaries and accountability
  • Monitor resident behavior and ensure compliance with program expectations
  • Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary
  • Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding resident needs, incidents, and concerns
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming home environment
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and licensing requirements

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience working with adolescents, behavioral health, education, residential care, social services, coaching, or related fields preferred
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress situations
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to actively supervise residents in a residential setting, respond quickly in emergency or crisis situations, and safely perform duties that may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting with behavioral interventions when necessary.
