Job description

Do you love making, creating, and helping others learn? Whether you're introducing someone to 3D printing, teaching sewing basics, or leading a hands-on workshop, you'll help make creativity accessible to our community.


We're looking for a curious, creative, and customer-focused Makerspace Advisor to provide hands-on support, teach customers how to use Makerspace equipment, and develop engaging programs forthe Makerplace, our 8,000 sq ft standalone makerspace.


What You'll Do

  • Help customers use Makerspace equipment, software, and creative tools, including 3D printers, laser cutters, sewing and embroidery machines, vinyl cutters, and more.
  • Teach one-on-one, small group, and public workshops for a variety of ages and skill levels.
  • Develop engaging classes, project templates, and instructional materials.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and help maintain a welcoming, organized Makerspace.
  • Stay current on emerging maker technologies and creative trends.


What You Bring

  • Genuine enthusiasm for making, tinkering, or hands-on technology
  • A passion for helping people and delivering outstanding customer service
  • Strong customer service, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with technologies such as 3D printing, design software, laser cutting, sewing, embroidery, or similar maker tools.
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience
  • A positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work with staff and customers in alignment withOur CultureandIDEA


Education:High school diploma/GED required. 2-3 years college coursework preferred.
Schedule: Part-time position,22hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling required as hours will include daytime, evening and weekend hours including alternating weekend shifts to accommodate the Makerplace schedule.
