We are seeking individuals to join our History Department team that are fully committed to transformational, culturally responsive education in a collegial and collaborative student-centered environment. Position Summary: Crafton Hills College is seeking qualified part-time instructors to join our Art History adjunct pool. Adjunct faculty are employed on a semester-by-semester basis and may be assigned to teach day, evening, or online courses at any of the college's instructional sites.
Representative Duties: Teach lower-division courses in Art History, which may include but are not limited to: Survey of Western Art (Prehistoric through Medieval and/or Renaissance to Modern) Non-Western Art Traditions Contemporary Art Introduction to Art Develop and deliver course content that meets department and accreditation standards Employ diverse teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter area Assess student learning outcomes and provide timely feedback Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Master's in art history, history of art and architecture or visual culture/visual studies OR Bachelor's in art history and master's in history OR Master's in art with a recorded emphasis or concentration in art history OR the equivalent. and Experience that indicates a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical and learning disabilities. Desirable Qualifications: Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
