Job description

ChildServe is looking for a Nurse to join our Medical Childcare team. Our program offers a specialized environment for children with medical complexities who live at home but need a higher level of care than traditional daycare can provide.
In this role, you'll provide compassionate, skilled care to children ages 6 weeks to 21 years with complex healthcare needs, while supporting each child's health, growth, and skill development. You'll be part of a fun, collaborative team that's passionate about making a difference. If you love working with kids and want to do meaningful work every day, we'd love to have you join us

Schedule
  • Operating hours: Monday-Friday 7:30a-6p
  • Days, no nights/holidays/weekends, 20-30 hrs/week. 4-10 hours shifts available. Benefit eligible, PTO accrual including 8 hours of PTO front-loaded
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Provide full range of nursing services that include administration of medications, feedings, and treatments to meet each child's daily care needs.
  • Perform ongoing assessments as needed.
  • Assist with creation or recertification of care plans as requested, RN only.
  • Implement child's care plan include nursing, therapy, and behavior support, conducting baselines, support plans and procedures.
  • Monitor children's response to care.
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinaryteamto ensure health and safety needs are addressed.
  • Assist the clients in becoming as independent as possible through skill development and retention.
  • Assist the clients with comfort measures including but not limited to positioning and safety devices.
  • Direct responsibility for clients assigned.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and timely records.
  • Report and document daily observations, routine support provided, and any health/physical/behavioral changes.
  • Communicate with clients, licensed professionals,ChildServepersonnel, families, schools, and the public, in a courteous and professional manner.
What You'll Need
  • Current valid license as a RN or LPN in Iowa.
  • Active BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in (or through) reading, writing and speaking the English language.
