While both roles focus on skincare and aesthetic treatments, a Part Time Medical Spa typically requires medical certifications and involves procedures like Botox or laser treatments in healthcare settings. A Part Time Aesthetician mainly performs skincare services such as facials and waxing in beauty salons. The roles differ mainly in credentials, scope of practice, and work environment, but both are essential in the aesthetic industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Medical Spa Professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Medical Spa Professional, you need relevant licensure (such as esthetician, nurse, or cosmetologist), knowledge of skincare treatments, and experience in a clinical or spa setting. Familiarity with specialized equipment like lasers, IPL devices, and booking or EMR systems is typically required, along with certifications in procedures such as injectables or laser therapy. Exceptional customer service, professionalism, and strong interpersonal communication skills make someone stand out in this role. These skills ensure client safety, satisfaction, and the efficient operation of the medical spa environment.

What are some common responsibilities and expectations for a part-time employee at a medical spa?

Part-time employees at a medical spa typically assist with client consultations, schedule management, and supporting licensed practitioners during treatments such as facials, laser procedures, or injectables. You may also be responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, handling administrative tasks like phone calls and appointment bookings, and staying knowledgeable about skincare products and services. Working in a team-oriented environment is common, and you’ll frequently collaborate with estheticians, nurses, and front desk staff to ensure a smooth client experience. Flexibility and strong communication skills are essential, as schedules may vary based on client demand.

What is a part-time medical spa employee?

A part-time medical spa employee works in a medical spa setting, typically providing cosmetic or wellness treatments, but on a part-time schedule rather than full-time hours. These employees may include aestheticians, nurses, or administrative staff who assist with services like facials, injectables, laser treatments, or client consultations. Working part-time allows for flexible hours, making it suitable for students, parents, or those seeking supplemental income. Responsibilities and required qualifications vary depending on the specific role within the medical spa.

Job description

Earn $65–$100/hour,  and work alongside an on-site cosmetic surgeon — about two days a week.

SimplySkin MedSpa is hiring an experienced aesthetic injector (RN, NP or PA) for our Carmel/Zionsville office. We're an Allergan Top 500 and Galderma President's Club practice with 21 years in the Indianapolis market — and this is a true ground-floor opportunity. You'll have an on-site cosmetic surgeon and medical director for collaboration and support, plus the full backing of our established flagship brand at Fishers as you build your own loyal book of patients.
If you're a skilled injector who wants strong earnings, a physician in your corner, and a calm, supportive place to do your best work, keep reading.

What you'll earn
  • $65–$100/hour in average earnings (base, commission, and tips). Our injectors hit this working roughly two days a week — by choice. Real part-time income, with full-time potential if you want it. Note: High Performers-bonuses are available, these earnings are just a range for average to above-average volume.
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Education & training credits to keep your skills at the cutting edge
  • Generous spa discounts and treatment credits
  • Genuinely flexible scheduling and protected work-life balance

Why this role is different
  • An on-site cosmetic surgeon and medical director for collaboration, mentorship, and higher-acuity support — something very few medspas can offer, and a real advantage for both your growth and your patients' safety.
  • Build your book with a safety net. Our 21-year flagship carries a loyal, established patient base and a trusted name across the north metro. We're actively investing in growing the Carmel/Zionsville location, so you get the upside of building your own following with brand recognition, referrals, and reputation already working for you.
  • Part-time by design. Most of our injectors choose about two days a week. When we say work-life balance, we mean it.

The role
  • Location: Carmel West / Zionsville, with occasional training at our Fishers flagship.
  • Schedule: Part-time (about two days/week is typical), with a clear path to full-time. Monday–Friday plus 1–2 Saturdays a month; some shifts run until 6 PM.
  • What you'll do: Neurotoxin and HA filler treatments, biostimulators, consultations, and treatment planning — with room to grow into medical weight loss, wellness, or HRT services (NP,s & PA's) already being offered at both locations.

What we're looking for
  • Credentials: Active Indiana RN, NP or PA license and relevant aesthetic certifications.
  • Experience: 3+ years injecting neurotoxins and HA fillers.
  • A plus: Background in medical weight loss, wellness, endocrinology, or hormone replacement therapy.
  • Artistry: A genuine eye for natural, top-tier results — and the drive to build something.

Why injectors stay with us
Twenty-one years, a Top 10 ranking in Indiana, and a "family-style" culture that's low-stress and supportive by design. We invest in our team's training, protect your time outside of work, and put a physician right beside you.
