Job description

Medical Device Technician

No traveling requiredMonday - Friday 8am to 5pm

Express is looking for a reliable medical device service technician for one of our great Marietta clients. This role is primarily responsible for servicing returned devices, managing device and parts inventory at our Third-Party Logistics (TPL) site while ensuring customers receive timely, high-quality technical support. The technician will collaborate closely with the Customer Service and Quality teams, provide maintenance guidance to customers, and uphold compliance with medical device regulatory standards. Responsibilities will include:

  • Device Servicing & Repair:Inspect, clean, troubleshoot, and repair returned devices; complete all required quality documentation.
  • Documentation:Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and service activities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Inventory Management:Oversee device and parts inventory, including working with supply chain team to order parts and supplies.
  • Compliance:Support compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 (QSR) and ISO 13485 through proper documentation and participation in internal audits, CAPAs, and nonconformance investigations as required.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine calibration, adjustments, and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Customer Support:Provide clear technical guidance and servicing instructions and assist customers with device maintenance when needed.
  • Collaboration:Partner with Customer Service and logistics teams to resolve customer needs efficiently.
  • Performance Goals:Drive to meet and exceed KPIs (turnaround time, first-pass repair yield, inventory accuracy, documentation completeness) and contribute to overall business objectives.
  • Other Duties:Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Service background in medical devices or electromechanical repair experience; respiratory products experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of healthcare environments and basic awareness of medical device regulatory requirements (FDA and ISO 13485).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams).
  • Analytical skills with experience in data reporting and trend analysis.
  • Physical ability to bend, lift equipment weighing 30+ pounds, and work in confined spaces.
  • Demonstrated success in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
