Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a part-time Simulation Technician and Lab Assistant. The Simulation Technician/Lab Assistant supports the daily operations of the simulation and skills laboratories by assisting with simulation technology, audiovisual equipment, patient simulators, medical equipment, inventory management, and laboratory setup. This position helps maintain a realistic, organized, and effective learning environment for healthcare education and simulation activities. This position will work on Cumming, and Dahlonega campus.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of simulation technology, including audiovisual equipment, patient simulators, task trainers, and medical equipment.
  • Prepare, set up, and break down equipment, supplies, and simulation environments for simulation activities and skills labs. Support faculty and staff during simulation sessions and laboratory activities as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels of simulation and lab supplies and communicate inventory needs to the Lab Coordinator and Simulation Coordinator.
  • Assist with organization, stocking, cleaning, and routine maintenance of simulation and laboratory equipment. Ensure simulation spaces remain clean, organized, and prepared for instructional use.
  • Help maintain consistency and functionality across simulation and skills lab environments.
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying equipment or operational issues and reporting concerns appropriately.
  • Follow safety procedures and departmental guidelines related to equipment and laboratory operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable, motivated, and able to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Technology aptitude and the ability to learn new technology and simulation systems quickly.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or coursework in a healthcare-related field, technology field, or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience working in a healthcare simulation center is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with patient simulators, audiovisual systems, or healthcare equipment.

Proposed Salary Range - $18.34 - $20.17.
