This part time contractor may work remotely and will create engaging short-form videos, photo galleries, and visual storytelling assets that highlight the work of the Jane Goodall Institute, Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots youth movement, and JGI's research and sanctuary sites.
This individual will create engaging short-form videos, photo galleries, and visual storytelling assets that highlight the work of the Jane Goodall Institute, Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots youth movement, and JGI's research and sanctuary sites.
Responsibilities:
• Create four (4) short-form videos per month optimized for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other emerging platforms.
• Organize and source footage and imagery from the Jane Goodall Institute's archival collections and approved content libraries.
• Edit videos with compelling storytelling, captions, music, graphics, and motion elements appropriate for each platform.
Roots & Shoots Content
• Create eight (8) social media posts per month highlighting Roots & Shoots projects, youth leaders, and community impact stories from across the United States.
• Collaborate with JGI staff to identify featured projects and success stories.
Research and Sanctuary Content
• Create four (4) social media posts per month featuring wildlife stories, conservation impacts, and chimpanzee rehabilitation efforts.
Content Optimization
• Ensure all content aligns with JGI brand standards, messaging priorities, and platform best practices.
• Adapt content formats and creative approaches to maximize engagement and reach across channels.
• 1-3 years of social media experience with demonstrated success creating mission-driven short-form video content that generates engagement and shareability.
• Proficient in editing videos, selecting and optimizing photos, and producing graphics for social media
• Comfortable working within set style and brand guidelines
• Highly creative with excellent editorial judgment and strong written communication skills
• Experience using administrative tools such as Microsoft Office and basic editing and graphic design tools, including Canva.
