ROLE AND PURPOSE:
Provide support to the social media strategy in the district's communication and marketing office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • Recent high school or college graduate.

Experience:
  • Must have experience using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Preferred, but not required, experience using Sprout Social

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Social media monitoring and analytics
  • Familiarity with digital cameras, video equipment and mobile devices for taking pictures and filming video
  • Ability to learn and navigate a cross-platform social media software program
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Use AP style writing, or have the ability to learn
  • Professional attitude

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
I. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:
  • Support X strategy, engage with followers on X daily
  • Draft social media messaging for Facebook, X, Instagram and LinkedIn and assist in creation of graphics
  • Run social media reports; from monthly analytics, to campaign results, to comparisons year-over-year
  • Upload social media content, including video, images, graphics and messaging, schedule for publication using Sprout Social
  • Answer questions on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Cover events; take pictures, video clips and gather details at campus locations for content on the district social media pages
  • Support an social media influencer strategy
  • Use software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, etc., to communicate with team members
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals; standard instructional equipment.
