About the Opportunity:

Saratech is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the planning, design, and development of mechanically functioning equipment and processes. This role involves hands-on engineering work, drawing reviews, and collaboration with senior engineers on projects of simple to medium complexity. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically curious, and eager to grow within a structured engineering environment. This is a full-time position or part-time leading to full-time position located in Irvine, CA.

Salary Range:

  • Pay Grade 48

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an accredited institution

  • Experience designing mechanical components and subsystems

  • Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5M geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Ability to work under close supervision on assignments of mild complexity

  • US Citizenship Required

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review drawings produced by Drafters and Designers for accuracy and compliance
  • Design mechanical equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses to validate design suitability
  • Support assembly, repair, and testing of environmental control systems
  • Assist senior engineers on projects of simple to medium complexity
  • Under general supervision, manage responsibility for a secondary project or a portion of a larger project
  • Provide technical direction to Drafters and Designers as needed
  • Collaborate with team members across departments
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports
  • Present designs and technical concepts to peers, engineers, and customers

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of drawing and drafting standards
  • Understanding of applied thermodynamics and mechanical design principles
  • Experience in military or aerospace equipment development is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with military specifications, environmental specifications, and test specifications
  • Exposure to electrical systems, electrical circuits, and control theory is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with testing and hardware is desirable
