Job description

DESCRIPTION

Yeshiva Toras Chaim, a private, accredited, parochial boy’s high school in Denver, is in need of a qualified, passionate, math teacher for the 2025- 2026 school year. The position is part-time for grade 12.

Responsibilities

  • Subjects to be supervised are: Algebra (Pre, I and II,) Geometry, Business Math and Statistics.
  • These classes are taught in collaboration with the ALEKS math program. Therefore, there is little preparation required as the students are mainly learning from the ALEKS program. However, the teacher must be able to help explain and help the student with any math topic, at any time. Therefore, it is imperative that he have a clear grasp on all math topics.
  • The ideal teacher will have a clear knowledge, understanding of and passion for the subject. He will have the ability to excite and engage high school boys in this critical area.
  • Teacher must be able to work with students of multiple levels in the same classroom.

REQUIREMENTS

  • State Certification is a plus, but ABILITY TO MOTIVATE and CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT SKILLS are a MUST. Two years of classroom teaching experience required. Teacher must have an excellent grasp on the subject matter. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred. The applicant must be willing to undergo a background check.
  • Classes are approximately 35-40 minutes each. There is one period between the hours of 3:40 pm to 4:20 pm. Classes take place from Monday through Thursday. (We have class on some legal holidays.)
  • Classes consist of about 14-20 boys each.
