Savannah State University established in 1890, is the first public historically black college or university in the state of Georgia and the first institution of higher learning in the city of Savannah. The university's students select majors from five colleges:

Job Summary
The College of Education at Savannah State University is seeking part-time faculty applications for academic year 2026-2027. Courses may be taught in the following areas:
  • Elementary Education
  • Middle Grades Social Studies
  • Middle Grades Science
  • Middle Grades Math
  • Middle Grades English Language Arts
  • Teaching Exceptional Learners
NOTE: In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not offer sponsorship for employment visas.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize and communicate instruction in ways that encourage and stimulate student learning.
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies that facilitate and promote student success.
  • Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with college and university policies.
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.
  • Submit immediate alerts in EAB when students are at risk.
  • Submit mid-term and final grade reports by the set University deadlines as well as completed course assessment forms at the end of each semester.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in regard to student interaction and information.
  • Comply with all university academic policies.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field with 18 credit hours in one of the aforementioned content areas.
  • Teaching certification/teaching endorsement in content area.
  • Post secondary teaching experience.
