Position Information
Job Title Part Time - Political Science Instructor Location Woodland Community College - Woodland, CA Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Political Science courses up to 10 hours/week
  • Organize and teach all levels of Political Science classes
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning;
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses;
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester;
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired
Essential Duties Summary
REQUIRED DUTIES:
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications stated below:
  • Master's in political science, government, or international relations OR
  • Bachelor's in any of the above AND
  • Master's in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, any ethnic studies, JD, or LL.B.
  • OR the equivalent.
  • EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement. EXPERIENCE:
Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching which would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Political Science to community college students.

The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.

Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

Important Instructions:
