Job description

Description
As a part-time Manufacturing Production Planner, you'll assess finished product inventories and create production plans for one or more manufacturing lines while ordering and managing inventories on all raw materials. You'll also be involved in cross-functional teams to help drive continuous improvement.

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
Required Qualifications
Ideal candidates have a high level of analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills, and the ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and multi-task to handle the varying responsibilities of the position. They have good interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills. They also have a high degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity, and a willingness to work around the needs of Manufacturing. Additional required qualifications include:
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • six months of Manufacturing experience, Production Planning experience or equivalent experience through college course work
  • ability to analyze and design processes
  • ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information and matters
  • ability to act in a professional manner
  • ability to remain calm and focused in a crisis situation
  • strong computer skills using applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, Access and Publix Computer Systems such as SAP and Dallas
  • ability to quickly learn new ideas or concepts
  • ability to visualize a situation
  • good negotiation skills
  • a willingness to work a variable schedule including nights, holidays and weekends to meet Manufacturing business needs
  • willingness to change and be a vehicle for change
  • must have high expectations
  • must be driven to provide excellence in customer service

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in an analytical field
  • Rising senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in an analytical field
  • one or more years' experience in production management, production planning, or supporting Publix Manufacturing SAP Production Planning processes
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), or Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certifications
