Job Summary

The Shop Laborer will assist in the fabrication and material handling of steel components used in water storage tank construction. This role involves operating shop equipment, moving materials safely using an overhead bridge crane, and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. The ideal candidate will be a safety-conscious, hardworking team player with a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the Shop Supervisor and collaborate with the team.
  • Load and unload steel plates, pipes, rods, and other materials using an overhead bridge crane.
  • Operate and maintain a shot blasting machine.
  • Use proper rigging techniques to safely move materials.
  • Perform machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Use basic math skills to measure and calculate material dimensions.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Supervisory Duties

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but requires strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate tasks efficiently.

Schedule

  • Part-Time, up to 29 hours
  • Monday to Thursday
