Part-time

Posted 8 days ago

Job description

At Shinesty, our mission is to force the world to take itself less seriously. We make people laugh first and sell second. Our mothers don't always approve of what we do, but the millions of people we've entertained over the years do.

Shinesty is looking for a part-time Production Assistant to support our in-house photo and video shoots. This role is the connective tissue between pre-production logistics and on-set execution: keeping everything organized, prepped, and moving so photo and video shoots run smoothly. This is a part-time position capped at 20 hours per week, compensated at $20 an hour.

Requirements

What You'll Do

On Set & Photoshoots -

  • Serve as a general PA, keep the day running smoothly and prep products and props for each setup so the creative team can stay focused on directing
  • Onboard models at photoshoots. Walk them through what they're wearing and get them where they need to be, on time
  • Help with general photoshoot logistics; source props from Facebook Marketplace, Goodwill, and similar resources based on shoot briefs
  • Pack, organize, and prep all props, products, and accessories for load-in & load-out
  • Build or assemble set pieces and custom props as needed

Pre-Production Operations & Studio (Ongoing) -ย

  • Log incoming photo samples, track arrivals, and maintain a running record of what's in-house vs. outstanding
  • Find & reach out to models outside of agencies to work with for upcoming photoshootsย
  • Unpack product after deliveries and handle returns and repackaging after shoots
  • Keep the studio organized, tidy, and functional day to day

JOB REQUIREMENTS

COMPETENCES:

Organization - Maintains organized systems for products, props, equipment, and studio spaces with strong attention to detail.

Initiative - Anticipates production needs, identifies potential issues early, and takes action before problems arise.

Communication - Keeps teammates informed, asks questions when needed, and communicates issues early.

Dependability - Arrives prepared, follows through on commitments, and can be trusted to handle responsibilities independently.

Teamwork - Works collaboratively with producers, photographers, designers, models, and other departments to support successful shoots.

MUST HAVES:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable, proactive, and hungry to learnย
  • Comfortable being on your feet for long shoot days and handling physical tasks like moving products, unpacking shipments, organizing inventory, and loading equipment
  • Scrappy mentality: how can we make it work with what we haveย
  • Access to a vehicle

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Previous experience as a production assistant, studio assistant, or similar role
  • Experience working on commercial photo/video shoots
  • Experience with inventory management
  • Experience sourcing props or building sets
  • Basic knowledge of camera equipment, lighting, or grip gear

Benefits

  • Amazing Employee Discount
  • Regular company provided snacks and lunches
  • Work alongside the best of the best
  • Opportunity for growth
