Description
Position Summary:
The Loader is responsible for accurately loading products onto assigned delivery vehicles to support safe, efficient, and on-time customer deliveries. This role ensures products are loaded in the correct sequence, shipment accuracy is verified, and product integrity is maintained throughout the loading process.
The Loader works closely with warehouse operations and transportation teams to ensure trucks are loaded according to route specifications, delivery requirements, and operational standards while maintaining compliance with food safety and workplace safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Load pallets, boxes, and other products onto assigned trucks according to route sequence and loading specifications.
• Utilize handheld scanners, RF devices, and warehouse technology to verify products, order details, and truck assignments prior to loading.
• Ensure all products are loaded accurately and match shipping documentation, route manifests, and customer requirements.
• Verify product counts and inspect shipments for visible damage, quality concerns, or loading discrepancies prior to trailer departure.
• Organize and position products within trailers to maximize space utilization while maintaining product integrity and safety standards.
• Secure and stabilize products appropriately to minimize product movement and prevent damage during transportation.
• Follow established loading patterns, weight distribution guidelines, and operational procedures.
• Communicate loading concerns, shortages, product discrepancies, or operational issues to leadership and transportation teams.
• Maintain loading area cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety and workplace safety standards.
• Support truck readiness and ensure assigned loading equipment is used safely and properly.
• Assist with product staging, pallet movement, and general warehouse support activities as operationally required.
• Follow all GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with warehouse operations, load planners, dispatch, transportation, and leadership teams to support operational goals and on-time delivery performance.
• Perform additional warehouse and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Prior warehouse, loading, shipping, logistics, or distribution experience preferred but not required.
• Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Basic communication and teamwork skills required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to learn loading procedures and warehouse operations.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and move products within company established guidelines, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, or varying warehouse temperature environments depending on operational assignment.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse tools, RF scanners, and related equipment as trained.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work Environment:
This position operates within warehouse and distribution environments that may include refrigerated, freezer, wet, or fast-paced operational conditions. Associates may be exposed to moving machinery, powered industrial equipment, varying temperatures, and moderate to loud noise levels.
