The Department of Health and Human Sciences at Loyola Marymount University seeks part-time faculty to teach courses in anatomy and physiology, nutrition, personal health, public health, kinesiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, upper and lower extremity evaluation, and therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation. There may not be openings at this time, but your application will be kept on file. As openings occur, all current applications will be reviewed. The position, when needed, is assumed to be a one-semester appointment, normally to teach one course.
The Department of Health & Human Sciences is housed within the University's Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering and serves approximately 170 undergraduate majors. Job Responsibilities:
• Deliver learning-centered instruction
• Conduct assessments of students and program learning outcomes
• Prepare for courses as needed
• Develop course syllabus in collaboration with University standards
• Make themselves available to students outside of class (i.e., office hours) as stipulated in the LMU Faculty Handbook
• Mentor students in their academic and professional careers
Minimum Qualifications:
Teaching experience at the university level is highly desirable
Required Education:
M.A. or M.S. in Kinesiology, Nutrition or other related field is required; Doctoral degree highly preferred.
Demonstrate effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
