JOB SUMMARY:

The School Therapist will provide high-quality services to assigned school(s) in compliance with agency policies. While collaborating with the community

therapist to ensure wrap around services for the client.


REPORTS TO: School Based Supervisor


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • The School Based Therapist will provide quality services to assigned clients in compliance with agency policies, COMAR standards, and all state and federal regulations. The specific responsibilities of the position of School Based Therapist include the following:
  • Provide clinical, therapeutic services to individual clients and families that can includes but is not limited to:
  • Individual, family; group therapy, crisis intervention, advocacy and supportive services, diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teamwork and work with community and school providers as needed
  • Timely and satisfactory documentation of all treatment efforts and progress which adheres to standards and regulations as set forth by the agency, the respective licensing board and COMAR
  • Abide by all safety rules and regulations of the agency and facility
  • Maintain ethical standards per their licensure and for performing services in a professional manner that is congruent with the mission and values of the agency
  • Perform duties as needed in accordance with achieving agency goals and maintaining quality standards.
  • Support the mental health needs of the assigned school, through integration into school activities, creating monthly programming, participation in classrooms, and through sharing and supporting school staff understanding of mental health principles
  • Serve as a resource to students, school staff, and families
  • All other duties assigned
