Job Title: MFA Graduate Assistant, Inkwell

Department: MFA Program / Academic Writing program

Reports to: Program Director

MFA Graduate Assistant, Inkwell

The main responsibility of the position is to serve as a managing editor or co-managing editor of Inkwell, the MFA Program’s literary magazine. This role involves managing all aspects of the magazine including, but not limited to:

· managing submissions

· soliciting submissions from established writers

· making editorial decisions

· interacting with accepted authors

· collating the issue for copy-editing

· copy-editing the issue

· assisting in the design of the issue

Required:

  • Enrolled in the MFA Creative Writing graduate program at Manhattanville
  • Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented
  • Previous experience working on a literary publication is preferred but not required

Compensation:

This position offers a 3-credit of tuition waiver to be used for classes in the MFA in Creative Writing Program for the fall and spring semester (6-credits in total).

Hours Expectation:

Part-time, 29 hours or less per week

Housing:

Housing is not provided.

Benefits:

Graduate Assistants are not eligible for benefits.
