Job description

Job Title: Van Driver - Part Time
Reports To:ย Transportation Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Part-Timeย 
Summary: Drives minibus, van, or lightweight truck to transport clients, trainees, or company personnel by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.ย  Other duties may be assigned.ย 
Drives vehicle from individual or central loading area to social services or rehabilitation center, training location, job site, or other destination according to assigned schedule.
Assists disabled passengers into and out of vehicle.
Secures passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
Operates radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers.
Competency: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies;ย

  • Solicits feedback to improve service
  • Interpersonal- Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming.
  • Oral Communications- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification.

Requirements & Experience:ย 

  • Complete an Applitrack On-line Application in its entirety
  • Successfully pass a van certification test
  • Experience is not necessary, but is beneficial
  • Successfully pass a Driver T8 physical and a 10 panel drug screen
