LIFEGUARD Part Time
GEOTEMPS, INC. is currently looking for a LIFEGUARD for our valued client in Morenci, Arizona. This individual must have a commitment to teamwork, safety and following policy and protocol. This opportunity is best suited for an individual who is comfortable as a lifeguard and performing public safety work in preventing injuries in the municipal pool facility.
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Duties include preventing accidents and effectively enforcing pool rules and regulations.
Responsibilities :
  • Assist Leads and Supervisors in running day-to-day operations, programs and events
  • Must show responsibility in opening and closing the pools, including some weekends.
  • Assist in conducting special swimming activities
  • Handle all patron and pool problems in an efficient, timely, and proper manner according to established procedures
  • Function as part of a team in an emergency or assist in handling incidents/accidents in Aquatics areas.
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Swim a minimum of 500 meters a week
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED Certification

Preferred
  • First Aid certificate is preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Three months (one season) of Lifeguarding experience

Required :
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Skill in applications of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Flexible schedule
  • Must pass a drug/alcohol screening.
  • Background and reference check

Physical Demands :
  • Ability to stand, stoop, reach, bend, climb, lift, pull, and swim while in swimwear.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs .
  • Must be able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction.
  • Must have the stamina to work long hours and overtime.
  • Must be able to hold your breath for a decent amount of time.
