Northwest AEA provides special education and school improvement services to 35 public school districts and 33 accredited, non-public schools. The agency serves 45,000 students and more than 5000 educators in a 10-county area of Northwest Iowa (Lyon, Osceola, Sioux, O'Brien, Plymouth, Cherokee, Woodbury, Ida, Monona, and Crawford).

Job Summary

Provide for the efficient and courteous delivery and pick up of materials to and from Northwest AEA schools and Northwest AEA.


Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Good driving record required
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds


Essential Functions

  1. Provide for delivery and return of materials and equipment.
  2. Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery boxes and sorting of incoming items.
  3. Provide accurate list of returned materials daily.
  4. Provide for maintenance, cleanliness, and fueling of the assigned vehicle.
  5. Convey accurate and timely information between circulation coordinator and building coordinators, report library material discrepancies.
  6. Secure vehicle and contents during loading, unloading and while in transit.
  7. Other duties as assigned


Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  1. Climbing in and out of delivery vans.
  2. Climbing stairs and ramps.
  3. Stooping, crouching, and bending numerous times per day.
  4. Reaching above the head to retrieve items.
  5. Walking to and from van to libraries and schools.
  6. Pulling/pushing delivery carts and dollies.
  7. Lifting and carrying 30-50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  8. Necessary visual acuity for operation of a motor vehicle.
  9. Temporary exposure to environmental temperatures below zero and greater than 90 degrees occasionally, and the ability to drive in these and other adverse conditions.
