Database Coordinator, Project MEDIA (part-time 17.5 hours/week)

Come join Project MEDIA (Media Effects on Development from Infancy to Adulthood), supported by the BYU School of Family Life Human Development Program! This research project examines the influences and effects of media on childhood and adolescent development and is the first major research project of its kind. As our database coordinator, you will be responsible to manage the data of this large scholarly project, as well as work with PIs on publications. This part-time position offers flexible hours and valuable experience that can be applied in various fields. Apply today!

What you'll do in this position:

  • Manage all Project MEDIA data, including maintaining survey and behavioral data within the project codebook
  • Clean and merge data coding of all behavioral data for all waves of the project
  • Update and manage the study website
  • Create, edit, and maintain surveys in Qualtrics
  • Attend the annual summer writing retreat and submit at least one publication per year using the Project MEDIA data

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Development, social science, or closely related field
  • Self-starter with ability to perform well without external pressure from supervisors
  • Working knowledge of Qualtrics, SPSS, Excel, and website management software

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Huan Development, social science, or closely related field
  • Proficiency with SPSS, Stata, or R
