Life Sciences Internship Coordinator (part-time, 28 hours/week)

The College of Life Sciences is seeking an organized, collaborative, and relationship-focused Internship Coordinator to connect students with high-quality internship opportunities. This role manages internship programs, strengthens employer partnerships, tracks outcomes, and helps students bridge classroom learning with career experience.

What you'll do in this position:

  • Manage internship placements and ensure alignment with university, college, and departmental requirements
  • Partner with department internship coordinators and the Experiential Learning Office to support student placements and learning outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and accessible internship records and databases
  • Use platforms such as Handshake, LinkedIn, BYU Connect, and Interstride to identify and promote internship opportunities
  • Track student placements, performance, and program outcomes
  • Develop and maintain a dashboard/CRM to provide useful internship data and insights
  • Promote opportunities through targeted student outreach
  • Partner with the career team to develop internship preparation resources
  • Build relationships with employers and external organizations to expand internship opportunities
  • Serve as a liaison with external partners and represent the college in internship-related initiatives

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience in student services, career development, or internship coordination
  • Professional demeanor, excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years in student services, career development, or internship coordination
  • Knowledge of BYU policies and procedures regarding internships
