Nature & Purpose of Position
Newton Gresham Library faculty and staff envision a library that supports and enhances the development of critically thinking, educated, and informed lifelong learners. The Library is critical the University's learning and research mission and endeavors to create physical and virtual environments that promote discovery of new knowledge and the transfer of existing knowledge. The Library fulfills this mission by providing organized access to a diverse array of quality print, electronic, and other resources and by continuously improving the effectiveness of its instructional and research services.
Nature of Position
Specialized clerical work involving the application of standard library techniques and procedures related to a specific library function. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: shelving books and other materials, operating printers and copy equipment, using computer applications in area of responsibility, performing online service activities and general customer service. Students must be enrolled at least 6 hours per long semester to be eligible. All positions require the ability to lift and move carts with library materials. Standard department hours of operation range from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm, with reduced weekend hours. Must be available to work within this hourly range.

* Due to the nature of work, this position requires extreme attention to detail.
* Crucial to have availability nights and weekends.
* Music knowledge not required, but extremely helpful.
