Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an External Relations Marketing and Event Assistant. - Boca Raton, FL.
This position plays a vital role in supporting the Florida Atlantic Libraries' External Relations team by promoting library services, programs, and initiatives through creative marketing, social media engagement, event support, and campus outreach.
Summary of responsibilities:
Marketing & Social Media
  • Manage and create content for Florida Atlantic Libraries social media platforms.
  • Develop engaging posts, reels, and stories to highlight events, student life, and library services.
  • Use Canva and other tools to design graphics, flyers, and promotional materials.
  • Assist in creating marketing collateral and brainstorming strategies for campaigns.
  • Track performance metrics and suggest improvements for engagement.

Event Coordination & Support
  • Assist with event setup, takedown, and day-of operations.
  • Support the flow of events to ensure smooth execution and a positive experience for attendees.
  • Help manage swag inventory and distribute giveaways at events.
  • Represent Florida Atlantic Libraries at tabling events on campus both internally within the library and at other campus opportunities.

Photography & Content Creation
  • Capture photos and short videos of events, student life, and library activities for marketing purposes.
  • Collaborate with the team to curate and edit visual content to enhance social media and promotional materials.

Outreach & Collaboration
  • Work closely with the External Relations team on campaigns and projects.
  • Assist with student engagement activities to promote Florida Atlantic Libraries resources and initiatives.
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming presence at all events and on-campus activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
FAU degree-seeking undergraduate student with a minimum of six credit hours (or twelve if international) and a 2.0 GPA. Student Assistants fall under the non-exempt, hourly pay rate type.
