Overview
The Part-Time Project Specialist provides administrative and operational support for facility-related activities. Working under general supervision, this role assists with the Facilities Information Management System (FIMS), supports inventory tracking, and provides purchasing and facility support as needed. This position is hourly and focuses on timely, accurate execution of assigned tasks to support efficient day-to-day facility operations. This is an onsite position, in Oak Ridge, TN with no remote option.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide support for the Facilities Information Management System (FIMS), including data entry, updates, and tracking activities.
  • Assist with maintaining records of facility assets, space utilization, and infrastructure data.
  • Support key inventory processes, including tracking, issuance, reconciliation, and documentation of keys and other items.
  • Research products, services, and vendors to support purchasing decisions and ensure alignment with organizational requirements.
  • Assist with purchasing activities, including preparing requests, gathering information, and tracking order status.
  • Provide general facility support, including coordination of supplies, equipment, and service needs.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation related to facility operations, inventory, and purchasing activities.
  • Communicate updates and task status to supervisors and team members as needed.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines to complete assigned work accurately and on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in administrative support, facilities support, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with data entry or tracking systems (FIMS or similar systems preferred).
  • Basic understanding of inventory tracking processes.
  • Experience supporting purchasing or office coordination tasks is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
