Part Time Library Custodian $21,500 - $23,750 per year Onsite The City of Falls Church is recruiting for a permanent part time (20 hours per week) Custodian.  The individual selected for this position will work at the Mary Riley Styles Public Library in Falls Church, Virginia.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of public and staff spaces, including restroom facilities, and ensuring they remain fully stocked.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting water fountains.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, replenishing supplies, and emptying trash and recycling receptacles.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch areas, such as: doorknobs, elevator buttons, counter areas, desks and tables; cleaning windows, dusting books shelves and desks.
  • Performing minor repairs and assembling office equipment as needed.
  • Setting up, taking down and moving furniture and equipment for programs, meetings, and special events.
  • Collect litter and debris inside and outside the building.
  • Performing basic outdoor maintenance, such as raking leaves and assisting with snow and ice removal.
  • Performing other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from High school preferred.
  • Custodial or maintenance experience.
  • Possession of a driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
  • Perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, sometimes under unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
  • An equivalent of training and experience may be considered.
Hours:

Schedule 20 hours per week afternoons and evenings; including Saturday and Sunday shifts.  Schedule: Monday-Thursday 3-7pm; Saturday and Sunday 7:30am-11:30am  (subject to change depending on needs).

Salary:
$21,500 - $23,750 annual salary/$20.64-$22.83 per hour depending on qualifications.
