Right at Home is seeking dependable, compassionate CNAs to provide companion and personal cares to our clients in Cedar Falls and surrounding areas. Companion care includes light housekeeping, laundry assistance, transportation, medication reminders, meal preparation and participating in activities the client enjoys like puzzles or games. Clients may also need assisted walking, transfers, and exercises.  Personal care includes help with bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene. There is no level of experience or training required as we provide a training and mentoring program to help you be successful. We are looking for a part-time CNA with the availability to work some hours during weekdays and weekends in Waterloo and Cedar Falls

What you will do as a CNA:

  • Provide light housekeeping, do laundry, make meals.
  • Transport clients to appointments or the store.
  • Assist with personal cares like transfers, toileting, showers, hygiene.
  • Medication reminders, life management.
  • Provide companionship with engaging activities and ensure client safety.
  • Report changes in condition or concerns around the well-being of the client.
  • Delegated nursing tasks like catheter care, medication administration, etc with training by RN.
  • Follow agency policies, procedures, and protocols
Requirements of a CNA: 

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • CNA certification
  • Must have own vehicle with proof of adequate car insurance and the ability to travel within our service area which is a 45-minute radius of Waterloo/Cedar Falls- our small town folks need help too!
  • Be able to safely operate a vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Pass background check
  • Ability to be reliable and dependable
  • Desire to care for older adults, keeping them safe and independent in their homes
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English with or without reasonable accommodations as needed for the job
  •  Experience with Hoyer lifts is preferred, though not required—we’re happy to train the right candidate
