Position: Maintenance Assistant - Forest Hills Commons

Schedule: Monday - Friday, on call

Location: Jeffersontown, KY

Compensation: Starting at $20.00/hour

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant that will assist the maintenance supervisor in maintaining the community grounds. They will ensure all equipment is in good working order to provide a safe, attractive, and enjoyable living environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in the maintenance of ongoing preventive maintenance programs
  • Responds to maintenance orders as placed by residents
  • Assists in the turnover of empty apartments so they can be leased in a timely way
  • Repairs and maintains kitchen, housekeeping, and mechanical equipment in good working order
  • Repairs and maintains heating and air-conditioning units
  • Inspect and repair any damage to hallways, walls, ceilings, floors, roofs, and resident apartments and garden homes (as applicable).
  • Painting areas as needed
  • Maintains all necessary tools and equipment to provide reasonable maintenance
  • Maintains inventory security of miscellaneous repair parts and tools
  • Lubricates all appliance motors, room exhaust fans, pumps, and miscellaneous equipment per preventive maintenance schedule or as the manufacturer recommends.
  • Inspects and repairs sewage lift stations if applicable
  • Inspect and change all central heating and air-conditioning filters at least monthly, changing filters on apartment units as needed.

Education/ Experience Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or similar role is preferred but not required
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and computer skills
  • Understand and uphold the policies and procedures established by Triple Crown Senior Living
  • Work independently, maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and be a positive leader
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
  • Maintain good working relationships with residents, co-workers, families, and external customers
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds and bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach and sit for long periods
