Job description

CCSN Behavioral Health is seeking a Masters level ABA student to fulfill the position of Lead Behavior Technician. This position is a part-time 29 hours per week role that offers supervised fieldwork and opportunity to attain unrestricted hours while working towards BACB certification. CCSN's hours of operation are 7:45am - 6:15pm M-F and Saturday 8:00am - 2:30pm. Candidates must be available until 6pm at least 3 days per week and on Saturdays.

Training & Supervision:

Lead Behavior Technicians (LBTs) receive ongoing supervision and training support from licensed behavior analysts through individual on-the-floor coaching with assigned caseload (restricted hours) and also from senior level behavior analysts for supervised fieldwork (unrestricted hours) for clinical activities towards BACB credentialing.

The CCSN Behavioral Health ABA Clinic is based in Westbrook, Glastonbury, and Farmington, CT and utilizes a center- and community-based model to deliver empirically supported ABA services to children with autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders.

The ideal candidate must have completed at least one semester of a Masters level course in behavior analysis and be actively pursing completion of the degree to become a behavior analyst . It is ideal that the applicant also be credentialed as a Registered Behavior Technician © however, training to attain this credential will be provided for the right candidate.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Direct coaching and training of behavior technicians using behavior skills training
  • Conduct criterion referenced assessments (VB-MAPP, AFLS, ABLLS) with oversight of a BCBA
  • Implement BT group training weekly
  • Act as a member of the clinical team and support BCBA team in day to day clinical operations to support the clinic
  • Carry a caseload and work directly with assigned patients
  • Implementation of ABA-based programming (e.g., direct instruction, daily living skills support, functional communication protocols),
  • Modeling to support family training
  • Data collection, graphing, and progress note reporting.
  • Comfortable using computer and application-based technology for data collection, entry, graphing, and note taking during sessions.

Physical Requirements for position:

  • Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing for approximately 80% of the day.
  • Active with patients, including sitting, and getting up from the floor, sit/play on the floor for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to complete skills required for Physical Management Techniques (PMT) to safely support patients.
  • Be able to lift 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Operating and working on a laptop, keyboard and/or iPad.
  • Be physically present at the assigned job location.

Starting Compensation:

  • Lead Behavior Technician (no RBT): $21.00/hour
  • Lead Behavior Technician with RBT ©: $22.50 - $25.50/hour (base of $22.50/hr and an added $1.00/hour for every year candidate has held RBT certification)
