About Us
Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree-granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. Its enrollment of 8,400 students is largely comprised of students from most of Georgia's 159 counties. The University has six academic schools, including Georgia's flagship aviation program, that support its mission to educate and graduate inspired, lifelong learners whose scholarship and careers enhance the state.
Job Summary
This part-time student position is within the Office of Student Life on the Cochran Campus. The role focuses on supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of campus and university engagement activities. Responsibilities include assisting with event logistics, conducting daily spot-checks of key campus spaces, and supporting promotional and administrative tasks, including designing flyers.
Student Assistants are expected to demonstrate professionalism, provide excellent customer service, and contribute to creating a welcoming and engaging campus environment.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, setup, and execution of Student Life and university events (both indoor and outdoor)
  • Enter Student Life events and updates into the Knight Life portal in a timely manner
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as assigned by the supervisor
  • Promote and encourage student participation in Student Life programs and events
  • Represent the Office of Student Life and the university with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Design promotional materials, including flyers for major events such as Homecoming, Week of Welcome, Spirit Week
  • Support coordination of university-wide events such as Freshman Convocation
  • Promote events and programs through tabling, posting flyers, and sharing digital content
  • Serve as a student representative on the Homecoming Committee

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Currently enrolled at Middle Georgia State University student for at least 6 hours, 12 hours preferably.
  • Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
